Below are some of the playlists from my YouTube guitar lesson channel. These are organized into categories to help add structure to your studies.  There are many more playlists on the channel, as well, for you to explore.

I created the You Tube Guitar Lesson channel to share what I’ve learned from 24 years of teaching private guitar lessons! I really enjoy teaching “one on one” but wanted the opportunity to help as many people as I could along their path of learning to play guitar. The channel features lessons on a multitude of different topics, techniques, and songs from many genres, styles. My goal is to help the brand new student from purchasing the right axe, learning to play their very first song, all the way to the advanced player looking to take it up a notch. The videos are separated into playlists to help you find what you are looking for. If you would like private instruction, that is available too. This is a beginner playlist with some of the most important lessons that I’ve developed over the past 24 years of teaching guitar.

These lessons are for those who are just starting their guitar journey. This playlist features lessons for those who are new to the guitar. It can be a struggle for sure but playing guitar should be fun right out of the gate! This playlist is designed to help new players get comfortable and confident in their playing. Learn how to hold your new guitar. Learn your first chords, how to form them properly and get them to sound out. Learn the parts of the guitar and more. Have fun and stay positive!

Take a much deeper dive into learning how to play the guitar. Be on the lookout for my upcoming lesson course, “Three Degree Complete Beginner Guitar Method” COMING SOON! This playlist picks up where the “White Belt No Stripe” playlist left off. You will learn to transition chords faster, start to learn the fretboard, get a better sound out of your guitar, find out about the pentatonic scale and more! Stay positive! You will learn to play the guitar and make beautiful music.

“White Belt Two Stripes” is up next. Here we will start to play power chords, learn how to start to play the blues, learn about the pentatonic scale and how to begin soloing with it. This is an exciting step in your development! Keep practicing and enjoying your guitar.

The “Yellow Belt” is next in your journey. You will continue to learn the fretboard, learn to keep the guitar quite and sounding great, start to improvise further with the pentatonic scale, venture into the second position of the scale, expand on playing the blues, learn about triads and a key of music, play more difficult songs and more. One goal might be to play a complete song at this point. This is an exciting time in your development, things are really starting to happen at this point!

The “Orange Belt” is the next level in your development. This is where we start to take a look at what gear you might want to use, you begin to accomplish playing barre chords fluently, you start to play more complex patterns with the pentatonic scales, you learn about rhythms and how to strum your guitar to make it sound awesome! This is the time to start phrasing with your guitar solos and get ready to transition into the intermediate phase of your playing!

This playlist features lessons for those who are new to the guitar. It can be a struggle for sure but playing guitar should be fun right out of the gate! This playlist is designed to help new players get comfortable and confident in their playing. The play list also features songs that are easy for beginners to grasp and feel like they are moving forward and progressing! Have fun and stay positive!

The next level(s) above the beginner level. Congratulations with achieving this goal, being able to play the guitar easily and with some confidence.

Backing Tracks! These practice tracks are made for musicians to practice improvisation and are for creating melodies with. Although they are primarily  made for the guitar, piano players, trumpet players, sax players, singers, violinists, really any solo instrument can be played over these tracks. There are a variety of genres and styles of music, more coming each month. The tracks are created, written, composed, performed by Drew Bentley.

Relax, unwind from a long day and put on this playlist. You can listen while your doing your homework or doing Yoga or even to go to sleep to. Enjoy!

The CAGED System for guitar is at the heart of learning the guitar. It’s a super logically laid out “constellation of stars” that makes it all make sense. It’s almost magical as both vertically and horizontally the chords spell caged. This series goes through the method one step at a time starting with the basic chord forms and expanding to using octaves and then the minor chords. The fourth lesson deals with string groupings as a secondary categorization. The lesson series will help you improve your knowledge of music theory and can be enjoyed by beginner guitar players and intermediate players alike. I hope that this lesson series is helpful for you! The wonderful world of music theory! It’s such a fun language to learn ans to operate. These lessons either touch upon or dive deeply into how music is put together, how harmony works. The lessons range from understanding scales and chords to chord progressions, rhythms and song structures, pretty much all things theory.

Dr.Ew TV… When I was in college they called me Dr.Ew. Funny nickname, it stuck. I’ve has a lot of nicknames over the years. lol Anyways, this playlist is for those students that want to watch everything that I have to offer on the channel.
