What Students are saying
Manoj Tandon
Eight years ago, my son and I started learning guitar together
as he was interested in learning the instrument
and I had always tinkered with the idea
but never really thought of executing on it.
Eight years have been quite a journey,
led by our patient guide and teacher
Drew Bentley.
Without his patience and guidance,
we would have been lost.
In the age of the internet there is
much information on the
mechanics of playing available online.
Mechanics though important,
in and of themselves,
give you little capability
to make music.
Music is not mechanical it is
an expression of
rhythm, melody,
and human emotion.
Each person’s formulation of the
three elements is a unique expression.
To bring out that unique expression
to its pinnacle, in the student,
is to reveal the musician within.
A very difficult task that requires
deep knowledge of music, great judgement
to determine how to best progress
an individual, and patience and
persistence to ingrain the
proper teachings.
Drew has all of those qualities
and we thus sometimes refer to
him as guitar sage.
We have been fortunate to have had
and continue to have his guidance
in our own journey to reveal the
musician within.

The guitar lessons with Drew
have been a great experience.
I have been playing for 27 years
and quickly noticed an improvement
in my playing and musical
understanding.
He is very knowledgeable in music theory, rock,
blues, jazz and practical techniques
to improve ones playing. I am very
impressed with his ability to read
the student to teach the guitar in
a way that is easy to understand
and to get the absolute most out
of every lesson.
He provides a how and why
understanding so that the lessons
are easy to remember.
The lessons have been focused
on meeting my interests and renewed
my enjoyment in playing.

Drew is a super great teacher,
I’m 16 and I’ve been taking lessons
for a little less than a year and
I’ve already learned so much
on the guitar. I went in just knowing
the basic chords and maybe a scale,
but now I know several scales,
I can improvise more confidently,
and learning songs has gotten
so much easier.
It’s great because Drew has such
an extensive and vast knowledge
of all styles of music, so he can
teach you anything you want.
In the time I’ve been there he’s taught
me some rock, some blues, some jazz,
and also just techniques that work
in every style. It’s a super personal
experience and he tailors each lesson
to the specific student and their
learning style, plus it’s just flat out fun!
I can’t wait to see what we’ll be doing
for the years to come.

Learn Guitar Through Connection, Not Confusion.
If you’ve spent years learning scales, chords, pentatonics,
songs, and music theory…
…but the guitar still feels disconnected…
…you’re not alone.
Many players know a lot of information but struggle
to turn that information into real music.
The Drew Bentley Method Online was designed to change that.
What Is DBMO?

Join Drew Bentley Method Online
and follow a clear connected path
designed to help you become a more
confident, capable guitarist.
DBMO is a weekly online guitar learning system
designed to help you become a more connected musician.
Rather than overwhelming you with endless exercises
and random topics, each lesson builds naturally upon
previous ideas while reinforcing the skills you’ve already developed.
You’ll improve your understanding of:
• Fretboard navigation
• Rhythm guitar
• Musical phrasing
• Pentatonic playing
• Groove and timing
• Improvisation
• Ear development
• Practical music theory
• Real-world musicianship
The goal isn’t simply to collect information.
The goal is to help you make music with confidence.
A Connected Approach
Many guitar programs teach isolated concepts.
A scale here.
A chord there.
A random lick.
A strumming pattern.
DBMO was built differently.
Inside the method, you’ll learn how musical ideas connect
across the instrument, helping the guitar feel smaller,
more comfortable, and easier to understand over time.
Weekly Wisdom Bands
DBMO is built around weekly lessons called Wisdom Bands.
Each Wisdom Band introduces practical musical concepts
while reinforcing previous material.
This gradual approach helps reduce overwhelm and creates
lasting musical understanding through repetition and experience.
Whether you’re working on fretboard movement, rhythm guitar,
phrasing, or groove, every lesson is designed to support your
long-term musical
growth.
Designed For Real Players
DBMO is especially helpful for players who:
✓ Know some chords but want smoother rhythm playing.
✓ Have learned pentatonic scales but struggle to improvise.
✓ Feel lost moving around the neck.
✓ Want to connect rhythm and lead guitar.
✓ Have watched countless online lessons but still feel stuck.
✓ Want a clear path forward.
You don’t need advanced theory.
You don’t need years of experience.
You simply need a willingness to show up and
keep moving forward.
Learn At Your Own Pace
There is no race to the finish.
Some lessons may click immediately.
Others may take a little longer.
That’s completely normal.
Real musical growth happens through consistency,
repetition, and practical application.
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is progress.

-Drew Bentley
Drew Bentley Method Online is designed primarily
for the late-beginner to early-intermediate guitarist who feels stuck.
You probably know some chords. You may know a scale or two.
You can play the guitar—but you’re still trying to figure out how
everything connects and how to turn what you know into actual music.
That’s where the Method begins.
Depending on your experience, the early lessons may feel exactly right,
a little easy, or even challenging. That’s intentional. We begin by
establishing the foundational concepts and shared language that
everything else will build upon.
From there, the Method continues to expand and develop over many years, covering a tremendous amount of ground in the first year alone.
Start where you are. Build the connections. Keep moving forward.
Clear Direction. Real Progress.
Take the next step in your musical journey and start building the
skills that make the guitar feel natural, connected, and enjoyable to play.
Welcome to The Drew Bentley Method Online.
Let’s make music.
