Black background with white numbers 1 and 3

Welcome to my “Billie’s Bounce” chord chart. This jazz classic is really not that hard to start playing when playing the basic chords.

Follow the video lesson, starting with the basic blues changes. From there move on to the “Bird Blues” using the easier chords. The lesson will then take you through some more challenging chords as well.

The song is to be played with a swing feel. The eight notes will be played with a triplet feel.

Make sure to watch the section that goes into the theory behind the piece.

The chords utilized are as follows. F7, Bb7, B Dim7,

Make sure to keep the strings that you are not playing quiet. This is accomplished by dampening the other strings. Again, take your time with this one.

CHEAP SUNGLASSES CHORDS AND LYRICS

Verse

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

When you get up in the morning and the light is hurt your head

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

The first thing you do when you get up out of bed

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5      F#m-Gm

Is hit that streets a-runnin’ and try to beat the masses

And go get yourself some cheap sunglasses

Chorus

G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5  G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5

G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5 F#m -Gm

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

Spied a little thing and I followed her all night

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

In a funky fine Levis and her sweater’s kind of tight

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

She had a west coast strut that was as sweet as molasses

F#m-Gm

But what really knocked me out was her cheap sunglasses

Chorus

G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5  G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5

G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5 F#m -Gm

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

Verse

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

Now go out and get yourself some big black frames

With the glass so dark they won’t even know your name

F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5                                  F#m-Gm, G5 Bb5 C5

And the choice is up to you cause they come in two classes

Rhinestone shades or cheap sunglasses

Chorus

G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5  G5 Bb5 G5 Bb5 C5 Bb5
