Welcome to my “Wake Me Up When September Ends ” chord chart. The chords are G5, G5, Dsus, Em7, G, G, D/F#, Em, Bm, C, D, Dsus, D, Dsus. This is a great song for beginner players as it’s just a bit tricky but really fun to play!

The rhythm guitar starts with articulating, picking out arpeggios for the intro and for the first four chords of the verse. You can down pick this part.

The count is 1 + 2 + 3 + for the articulation.

There is a pick, pick, strum, pick, pick, strum, pick pattern for the next 3 chords of the verse plus the entire B section.  but you can strum it as well.  The beat is syncopated.

1 + 2 + 3 + + for the pick pick strum part.

You can down pick this part as well.

The rhythm for the tag, (ending) is a two measure pattern.

1 + 2 + 3 + + then 1 +  2 + 3 + 4 +

Take your time with the guitar solo, it’s pretty easy and should be lot’s of fun!
